Interferential Current Therapy is an effective therapy method used to relieve pain, improve circulation, and accelerate the self-healing process. This form of muscle stim is similar to TENS, but is able to reach soft tissue much deeper and much more effectively due to its medium frequency current (4,000 Hz) and its ability to pulse the frequency up to 250 pulses per second (PPS). During treatment, the patient’s underlying tissue and nerves become stimulated, which accelerates the healing process and reduces pain immediately.
Advantages of Interferential Current Therapy include:
- Reducing or eliminating pain without the use of drugs or surgery
- Noticeable decrease in swelling and inflammation
- Restoring lost movement and improving range-of-motion
- Stimulating the natural hormones which can help the body heal faster
